Write a product review. Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon. I've seen Hendrix and Clapton live [in '68]. Verified Purchase. I admit it, most of the guys I've seen in live-concerts, are NOW, very, long-dead, and are doing "dead-concerts" Jimi Hendrix on guitar, Kieth Moon on the drums, Jim Morrison singing, and dozens of bass-players taking turns sittin' in.
I've always prefered three-piece groups Rush has great singing; the guitar-work is quite enjoyable; and that drummer kicks ass on those skins! Nice look back at the Rush catalog.
I'm a Rush fan, and wanting to learn more and more about them. I am relatively new to loving them. During their heyday, some of their songs were played to death on rock radio. I got so tired of them that I didn't appreciate what when into them. I can't say that I was a huge Rush fan back in the 80's but I did enjoy their music. Nowadays, my music collection includes all my 80's rock favorites but did not include any Rush until I got this greatest hits collection.
Begin the day with a friendly voice, A companion unobtrusive Plays that song that's so elusive And the magic music makes your morning mood. Off on your way, hit the open road, There is magic at your fingers For the Spirit ever lingers, Undemanding contact in your happy solitude. Invisible airwaves crackle with life Bright antenna bristle with the energy Emotional feedback on timeless wavelength Bearing a gift beyond price, almost free All this machinery making modern music Can still be open-hearted. Not so coldly charted, it's really just a question Of your honesty, yeah, your honesty.
One likes to believe in the freedom of music, But glittering prizes and endless compromises Shatter the illusion of integrity.
For the words of the prophets were written on the studio wall, Concert hall And echoes with the sounds of salesmen.
